Small & Large Works Open thru January 29!

Small and Large Works have taken over The S.P.A.C.E. Gallery and The Soda Plant Hallways! We’ve got over 400 piecese of art by over 60 local artists, perfectly sized for gift giving this holiday season. Works of all price ranges and styles are available for you and your loved ones!

The S.P.A.C.E. Gallery and Small Works show is open every Friday and Saturday from 12-5pm through January 29th, 2022. The Soda plant Hallways Large Works show is open Mondays – Saturdays from 10am – 5pm for self guided tours through any of the buildings entrances from Pine Street.

The Small Works exhibition takes place every December and January in The Space Gallery in order for artists to show and sell work perfectly sized for Holiday gift giving! Artists may show any work, in any medium, as long as it is 12″ or smaller in each direction (before framing). The work must be ready to hang on the wall or a pedestal. Artists may show up to 10 pieces in this show, with a $3 entry fee per piece. (First piece free for Members). 

The Large Works exhibition takes place in the halls of The Soda Plant. All 2-D work sized at 2′ – 6′ in any direction will show! Artists may exhibit up to 3 pieces in this show, with a $3 entry fee per piece.

Gallery members had first dibs, and now it’s your chance!

Installation Dates August 18 & 20 (more dates to be added if spots are still open on Friday, the 20th!)

The South End Art Hop takes place the weekend after Labor Day each year and is a celebration of the arts and creative businesses of the South End Arts District! Showing your work is a guaranteed way to have your work seen by the most people, gain feedback, meet other artists, and sell work!

Like in years past, artists will install their own work in any format they wish in a designated 4′ wide x 8′ tall wall space. We do not have larger spaces or double spots available at this time. Fill it with any work you like and we’ll take care of the rest! Enjoy the freedom of exploring the South End Art Hop and having your name and work listed in the program guide.

The Space Gallery takes over The Soda Plant every year in September to welcome members of the creative community to showcase their unique work to a crowd of thousands for the South End Art Hop. The three day event will host 7+ artist vendors inside and out, performance art Friday and Saturday night at 9pm, food trucks, sculptures, and pop-up espresso/wine/and boutique cocktail bar in the newest part of The Soda Plant building welcoming our new neighbors… and we’re curating the art! 13 studio artists that surround the gallery open their doors to the public so you can see where they make their work year-round. The gallery exhibition featuring 70+ artists is open all month long as well and you can expect artwork of every medium from fiber arts, ink on paper, collage, book arts, metal sculpture, photography, to classic works on canvas. The diverse range of talents is on display to show off the best of the local art scene…and just about everything is for sale. Enjoy!

South End Art Hop 2018 will take place September 7 – 9th this year and we can’t wait to show your work!

The S.P.A.C.E. Gallery is always thrilled to host exhibitions where every artist who applies may showcase pieces that they are proud of or exemplifies their specific style! Any artist, of any age, working in any medium may show work and fill up their own dedicated wall space a minimum of 3-4′ wide by 8′ tall.

The South End Art Hop is THE best time to get your art out to the public. At The Space Gallery, we host thousands of visitors over the three day event and keep the work open to the public for the entire month of September! The Space Gallery and The Soda Plant hallways fill up, nearly floor to ceiling, with the best local artwork for sale. Last year, we sold at least one piece by one out of every two artists that chose to show on our walls!

You may also decide to become an annual gallery member when you register for Art Hop, discounted from $45 to $40 and it includes discounts on future group exhibition fees, inclusion in the annual May Members Show, advice or art critiques by appointment during gallery hours, ability to pitch group or solo shows, promotion on our website and in social media as applicable, and invites to various creative opportunities.
