‘Holding Pattern’
Solo Installation by Christy Mitchell

June 11 – August 7, 2021

Opening Reception: Friday, June 11 from 6pm – 9pm

Set in an early 20th century Victorian style home, ‘Holding Pattern’ imagines conversations and changes to everyday life experienced over many decades and family dynamics. If these walls could talk about the things that we say and what we hide from the public, what would they tell us? Christy Mitchell combines artifacts from the past to tell stories about modern day topics that have affected her personally, but are also universal. As we are collectively released from the holding pattern of the last year, a critical eye must be trained on what we will take with us and what should be left behind.

‘All the Feels’ February – April, 2021

‘All the Feels’

The S.P.A.C.E. Gallery curated hallways of The Soda Plant
February 19 – April 30, 2021

Featured here; Art by Dana Heffern, Andrew Prendimano, Alan Shulman, Nikki Laxar

In years past, the ‘All the Feels’ exhibition at The S.P.A.C.E. Gallery has felt both lighthearted, exploring themes of love, as well as diving deeper and commenting on the current political climate. In 2021, amidst a pandemic, the feelings have predominantly turned inward or about how we interact with each other. 40+ artists have created work with the prompt of ’emotion’, whether it was felt during the creation of the piece, in the content of the work, or how the viewer would interpret it later. We sure are feeling it, but one thing is certain, it feels good to be showing artwork again after a year of keeping our distance.

‘Almost There’ by David Holub
‘Roots and Wings’ by Lindsay Colburn

It’s our first curated exhibition since March of 2020 and we are so excited to open our doors to the public for this heartfelt show. Visit The Soda Plant building for a self-guided tour each Monday – Saturday from 10am – 5pm. Gallery attendants on hand at The Space Gallery entrance each Friday & Saturday from 12-5pm. Inquires into the show may be sent to spacegalleryvt@gmail.com. See you soon!

‘All the Feels’
February 7 – 29, 2020

All the Feels features artwork that exudes emotion, feeling, and causes reactions! Whether in the creation process from the artist, in the content of the piece, or in the response from the viewer while taking in the work, we all want to feel something. Due to the massive snow storm at the opening reception, we invite you back to celebrate this extraordinary exhibition featuring work by 40 artists!

200 submissions came in for consideration for this exhibition, which conveys to us that emotions are running high! That artists are creating! That the process of creating artwork is cathartic. 40 artists were selected to display their works in one of our favorite themes. Each piece tells a nuanced story and we invite you to dive in, see you soon!

‘Small Works’ Continues for January, 2019

Happy New Year from Space!

First Friday Art Walk January

‘Small Works’ Exhibition Continues!
Friday January 4th – Saturday 17th

‘It Was So Cold on Shelburne Bay Last Winter’, encaustic by Jessie Polk

Sevendays newspaper so aptly states about our continuing exhibition….

“You’ve put away the holiday decorations, dragged the tree to the curb and made a New Year’s resolution: to buy some art for yourself. At Burlington’s S.P.A.C.E. Gallery, a whole exhibit full of petite artworks by Vermont artists measure no more than 12 inches, yet come in a big variety of styles and mediums. Consider decorating all of your rooms.”  We couldn’t agree more!

‘Sailing Dory’, acrylic by Tim Neiley

Join us every First Friday Art Walk from 5-9pm for complimentary wine and refreshments as you decide which pieces to take home with you!
