‘All the Feels’ February – April, 2021

‘All the Feels’

The S.P.A.C.E. Gallery curated hallways of The Soda Plant
February 19 – April 30, 2021

Featured here; Art by Dana Heffern, Andrew Prendimano, Alan Shulman, Nikki Laxar

In years past, the ‘All the Feels’ exhibition at The S.P.A.C.E. Gallery has felt both lighthearted, exploring themes of love, as well as diving deeper and commenting on the current political climate. In 2021, amidst a pandemic, the feelings have predominantly turned inward or about how we interact with each other. 40+ artists have created work with the prompt of ’emotion’, whether it was felt during the creation of the piece, in the content of the work, or how the viewer would interpret it later. We sure are feeling it, but one thing is certain, it feels good to be showing artwork again after a year of keeping our distance.

‘Almost There’ by David Holub
‘Roots and Wings’ by Lindsay Colburn

It’s our first curated exhibition since March of 2020 and we are so excited to open our doors to the public for this heartfelt show. Visit The Soda Plant building for a self-guided tour each Monday – Saturday from 10am – 5pm. Gallery attendants on hand at The Space Gallery entrance each Friday & Saturday from 12-5pm. Inquires into the show may be sent to spacegalleryvt@gmail.com. See you soon!

Call to Artists: All the Feels – February Exhibition at SPACE!

Call to Artists: All the Feels

‘All the Feels’ seeks submissions of artwork that exude emotion, feeling, and cause reactions! Whether in the creation process from the artist, in the content of the piece, or in the response from the viewer while taking in the work, we want to feel something. All artists working in all mediums are encouraged to apply! Deadline: February 2, 2020

February hosts Valentine’s Day, so we are encouraging love and kindness, though that is not the whole vibe! The Space Gallery aims to raise the heart rate of those engaging with the show in many ways. Think breathtaking, think quiet reflection, think grief, think infatuation, think with your gut….all of it…we can’t wait to experience it!

Abstract work can be incredibly moving, stories can be told through sculpture, and passion placed in portraits is all fair game. Upload images of your work for this curated exhibition and we will be in touch if the work fits in with the story line of this emotional group exhibition for the month of February at The S.P.A.C.E. Gallery!

Apply Here: All the Feels Application Form

Details: Juried and Curated, you will be notified if 1 or more of your pieces make the exhibition.

Dark Matter

Opening Reception: Friday, October 11 from 5 – 9pm
Closing Reception: Friday, November 1 from 5 – 8pm

Open Thursdays – Saturdays from 12 – 5pm

The S.P.A.C.E. Gallery is honored to host our 11th annual ‘dark arts’ exhibition this fall with the third edition of ‘Dark Matter’. The group exhibition showcases work from artists expressing how they interpret their views of the known and unknown world through artworks that are not always cheery and light, albeit still aesthetically pleasing. Work presented also takes a hard look in regards to our current time and place in the world, politically, socially, and diving in to current topics such as the climate crisis.

The word Cadence, has rich associations. In jazz, it signals rhythm, flow and inventive solos in the company of others. Each of the four artists in this show bring a distinct approach to their art, yet a common thread – literally – ties these diverse and lively pieces together. Their work reflects deep engagement with their materials – and delight in the surprises and elaborations that spring from them.

‘Stitched Left Hand’ mixed media by Sharon Webster

Enjoy and see you during First Friday Art Walk, the Artist Talk, or all month long Thursdays – Saturdays from 12-5pm!
