Call to Artists Deadline for Application: August 20 at noon, or until all spots are full!

Gallery members had first dibs, and now it’s your chance!

Installation Dates August 18 & 20 (more dates to be added if spots are still open on Friday, the 20th!)

The South End Art Hop takes place the weekend after Labor Day each year and is a celebration of the arts and creative businesses of the South End Arts District! Showing your work is a guaranteed way to have your work seen by the most people, gain feedback, meet other artists, and sell work!

Like in years past, artists will install their own work in any format they wish in a designated 4′ wide x 8′ tall wall space. We do not have larger spaces or double spots available at this time. Fill it with any work you like and we’ll take care of the rest! Enjoy the freedom of exploring the South End Art Hop and having your name and work listed in the program guide.

‘Holding Pattern’
Installation by Christy Mitchell
June 11 – August 7, 2021

Closing Reception: Friday, August 6 from 6pm – 9pm
Artist Talk: 7:30pm

Set in an early 20th century Victorian style home, ‘Holding Pattern’ imagines conversations and changes to everyday life experienced over many decades and family dynamics. If these walls could talk about the things that we say and what we hide from the public, what would they tell us? Christy Mitchell combines artifacts from the past to tell stories about modern day topics that have affected her, but are also universal. As we are collectively released from the holding pattern of the last year, a critical eye must be trained on what we will take with us and what should be left behind.
