Call to Artists: ‘All the Feels’ & Valentine’s Day Card Swap!

Call to Artists:

‘All the Feels’

February exhibition seeks submissions of artwork that exude emotion, feeling, and cause reactions!

Fiber Work by Lorraine Reynolds

February hosts Valentine’s Day, so we are encouraging love and kindness, maybe some hearts, though that is not the whole vibe!

Whether in the creation process from the artist, in the content of the piece, or in the response from the viewer while taking in the work.

The Space Gallery aims to raise the heart rate of those engaging with the show in many ways. Think breathtaking, think quiet reflection, think grief, think infatuation, think with your gut….all of it…we can’t wait to experience it!

Valentine’s Day Card Swap!
at The Space Gallery

Seeking artists excited to give and receive Valentine’s Day cards! Did you have Valentine’s Day card exchanges at your grade school? This event aims to bring the sweet tradition back, but in an artist trading card type of way.

You will receive a ‘mailbox’ at The Space Gallery which you may decorate at our First Friday Art Walk, during open hours Feb 1 – 14, or by emailing an image for us to print. Depending on the number of participants, you will then be instructed to make between 10 – 25 cards that measure no more than 4″ x 6″.

All mediums welcome, from laser cut to hand lettered, from
collage to block printed and taped with candy, we want it
all…and you will get the same number back from a diverse
group of artists in time for Valentine’s Day!

Register for your mailbox here, $10 (subsidy available) by February 1st:

‘Small Works’ Continues for January, 2019

Happy New Year from Space!

First Friday Art Walk January

‘Small Works’ Exhibition Continues!
Friday January 4th – Saturday 17th

‘It Was So Cold on Shelburne Bay Last Winter’, encaustic by Jessie Polk

Sevendays newspaper so aptly states about our continuing exhibition….

“You’ve put away the holiday decorations, dragged the tree to the curb and made a New Year’s resolution: to buy some art for yourself. At Burlington’s S.P.A.C.E. Gallery, a whole exhibit full of petite artworks by Vermont artists measure no more than 12 inches, yet come in a big variety of styles and mediums. Consider decorating all of your rooms.”  We couldn’t agree more!

‘Sailing Dory’, acrylic by Tim Neiley

Join us every First Friday Art Walk from 5-9pm for complimentary wine and refreshments as you decide which pieces to take home with you!
