Inspired by the success of S.P.A.C.E. Gallery and Artist Collective, when 1700 sq ft of space opened up next door, Christy jumped at the chance to develop another creative space in the Soda Plant.
While the Backspace was waiting to be developed there were several large scale shows that happened:
Art Hop 2010: Stuck: an installation by Wylie Garcia and Mary Admasian
August 2010: Tobias Batz, Urban Scrawl
In April of 2011 it was time to add studios, fill them with artists and start hosting regular shows.
