Cut & Paste has been a success! 40+ artists brought their mixed media creations into The S.P.A.C.E. Gallery for display during the month of May. The opening was well attended, a handful of pieces sold in the first week, and an article on the exhibit will appear in the arts section of the Burlington Free Press for Sunday, May 20th.

The question is…how are we going to finish up the ‘World’s Largest Collage‘? With your help of course! It’s almost there, we just need a few more carefully placed items to fill all of the 30′ x 10′ white space and then we can document it.

Join us on Friday May 25th from 5 – 8pm at The S.P.A.C.E. and Backspace Galleries for hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and some glue of course! To gain entry, bring at least one item to affix to the wall, (or one will be provided to you!)

*Participate in a group show of collage work in its many forms this May at The S.P.A.C.E. Gallery.

*Artists may showcase 1 – 10 pieces each, 1 is guaranteed, the rest will be hand picked by the gallery…with the goal to hang everything!

*Simply show up with ready-to-hang collage artwork on any Thursday – Saturday from 11-4pm now through April 28th.

*$10 entry fee per artist, payable by cash or check. Be prepared to fill out info about each piece: title, medium, & price. 70% of all sales made during the duration of the exhibit go to the artist.

We’re Not Made of Metal by Sarah Bush, is an interactive group of sheet metal sculptures that explore and express an internal concern with the societal movement toward mechanical ways of being and how this movement inherently negates the importance and value of the individual. The idea developed during a time when Sarah was losing herself in a push toward mechanization and achievement, while forgetting about the importance of rest and laughter. She hopes that her work will inspire an audience to consider the reality of this modern issue and the way it can lead us away from our true selves.
