Five-Second Rule
Dropped Food Paintings by Robert Waldo Brunelle, Jr
July 6 – 28
Opening Reception: Friday, July 6 from 5 – 9pm
Open Hours: Thurs – Sat 11 – 4pm
‘Five-Second Rule‘ is a series of acrylics that feature a humorous twist on the old tradition of painting still life pictures of food. In these images the lovely meals have been dropped, tossed, thrown or spilled onto the colorful kitchen floors. What happened? Were these culinary disasters the result of clumsiness, a nasty fight, or are they evidence at a crime scene? Viewers are invited to make up explanations of their own this July at The S.P.A.C.E. Gallery.
Robert Waldo Brunelle is a painter, sculptor, political cartoonist and recently retired art teacher. He is vice president of the Northern Vermont Artist Association. To see more of his work, visit www.mrbrunelle.com.
